Founder Story
Who We Are
Tru Nobility is led by Christiane and Michael Martin, a husband-and-wife team building a cultural education brand through apparel, products, stories, and classroom-ready resources.
We did not start Tru Nobility as a trend. We started by making pieces that reflected what we loved, studied, and believed in: Black writers, artists, freedom workers, African heritage, and the stories that shaped us. At first, the shirts were for us. Then people began asking for them. What started as something personal became a business with a deeper mission.
Christiane brings the maker’s eye and product instincts behind the brand. She learned to sew out of necessity, began selling her work as a teenager, and understands how design, quality, and presentation shape the way people connect with a product.
Michael brings the historical lens, storytelling, and strategy. Raised by parents shaped by civil rights work, Black liberation, and Dr. King’s legacy, he sees Tru Nobility as more than merchandise. It is a way to keep memory, pride, and cultural education present in everyday life.
Together, we are building Tru Nobility from the inside out: designing products, writing resources, listening to educators, fulfilling orders, serving customers, and shaping a system where every product can lead to a larger learning experience.
Now, with recent momentum and a clearer growth model, we are ready to turn Tru Nobility into a stronger education-support ecosystem for families, teachers, libraries, homeschool groups, and communities.
Rooted in Craft
Christiane brings hands-on product experience, design instincts, and the
discipline of making things people want to wear, gift, and keep.
Rooted in History
Michael's father is famously pictured above at the Greensboro sit-ins.
This is a legacy he has committed to following with this company.
Built Together
As a husband-and-wife team, we combine creativity, strategy, operations,
and mission into one focused vision for growth.

FAQ
Is Tru Nobility only an apparel brand?
No. Apparel is one entry point, but the larger vision is cultural education through products, stories, digital resources, bundles, and classroom-ready learning tools.
What will support help Tru Nobility do?
Support helps us develop educational kits, improve production, strengthen our website and sales systems, create stronger product presentation, and reach more families, educators, and communities.
Why are classroom kits part of the plan?
Classroom kits turn cultural products into practical learning tools. They help educators and families move from inspiration to structured lessons, activities, discussion, and deeper historical understanding.
How do you make sure the educational materials are strong?
We plan to build with feedback, not guesswork. Materials will be reviewed, tested, refined, and shaped through educator input, pilot use, and clear learning goals.
Why invest in in-house production?
In-house production helps improve margins, speed, quality control, packaging, and the ability to test new bundles without depending entirely on outside fulfillment partners.
Why do you believe this next stage can work?
Tru Nobility has already developed products, built a brand, reached customers, and identified the path from individual products to educational bundles and classroom-ready resources.
