Have a Seat - Greensboro Sit-Ins Civil Rights Sweatshirt

On February 1, 1960, four Black college students walked into a Woolworth’s in Greensboro, North Carolina, sat at a whites-only lunch counter, and refused to move sparking months of nonviolent sit-ins that helped force desegregation across the South. My father was one of the many who sat down so that we could stand taller. This design is my way of inviting you into that story.

This design is more than just a civil rights graphic tee, it's a wearable receipts of what our people endured and changed. The design presents an image of my father and his classmates as photographed on February 2nd at the Woolworth's lunch counter. This movement exposed the hypocrisy of being allowed to spend money in the store and even make the food, but be banned from having a seat.
